North of Town Golf Course
In 1965 Teton County’s First Golf Course was built by Paul McCollister, the developer of the Jackson Hole Ski Area. In 1973 Laurence Rockefeller spearheaded the purchase of the resort by The Grand Teton Lodge Company. Rockefeller, then commissioned Robert Trent Jones II to redesign the course, which has consistently earned it the ranking of the best course in Wyoming. Vail Resorts purchased the resort in 1999 and invested over $15,000,000 to bring the resort to its present form. The Jackson Hole Golf and Tennis Estates surround the resort and is typified by 2,500 to 3,500 square foot homes on lots of .5 to 1 acres and fairway frontage not being uncommon. Those interested in larger lots should consider Fairway Estates for golf-proximal development comprised of 3,000 – 6,000 square foot homes on 3-4 acre lots.
