Snake River Sporting Club
Platted in 2005 and centered around a Tom Watson golf course and private access to the Snake River, the Snake River Sporting Club was well on its way to becoming another world class resort in Teton County. By the end of 2006, this development had recored over 34 lot sales with an average price in excess of $1,500,000. However, timing is everything. In the summer of 2007 marked the beginning of a national recession that lasted for five years. With the development expenditures having been made and no demand or retail financing for its product, the Sporting Club developers were forced to declare bankruptcy. As of the Spring of 2013, the main components of this resort property had been purchased out of bankruptcy by investors and golf aficionados are eagerly waiting to see the outcome.
